The pure analog signal path is based on authentic VCO, VCF, VCA and state variable filter designs in conjunction, with a flexible, multi-wave LFO and classic Bucket Brigade Delay (BBD).

The 1970s and ’80s spawned the first wave of portable analog synthesizers, and while quickly adopted by a bevy of renowned musical artists including Jan Hammer, Chick Corea, Rick Wakeman, Jean-Michel Jarre, Isao Tomita and Keith Emerson to name a few, they were somewhat temperamental and very expensive.Īn updated incarnation of its predecessors with all the original features and then some, the BEHRINGER NEUTRON lets you conjure up virtually any monophonic sound imaginable with incredible finesse and ease. Comprehensive USB/Midi implementation for connection to keyboard/sequencer.External audio input for processing external sound sources.Powerful headphone output with dedicated level control.Patchable audio-rate sample and hold with glide for added creativity.32 in / 24 out jack matrix for an incredible amount of patching options.Utility functions including attenuators, multiples, slew rate limiter and summers for creative patching flexibility.36 controls and 7 buttons give you direct and real time access to all parameters.Overdrive circuit adds rich analog warmth and edge to your sounds.

  • Noise generator dramatically expands waveform generation.
  • Flexible LFO with five waveform shapes, MIDI clock sync and key sync.
  • Multiple stage analog delay based on legendary BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay) technology.

  • Individual pulse width / tone mod control provides ultimate sounds.

  • Oscillator waveform control blends seamlessly between 5 shapes (tone mod, pulse, sawtooth, triangle, sine).
  • Semi-modular architecture with default routings requires no patching for immediate performance.
  • Pure analog signal path based on legendary VCO design to recreate classic sound performance.
  • Paraphonic synthesizer with authentic dual 3340 analog oscillators for insanely fat music creation.
  • Some (most?) of you have probably seen this video but I'll post it anyways:Ĭlick to expand. I want both of these, but the later the most of the two, assuming it sounds as good as the prototype demo I saw on youtube and built like the description and pictures I saw on Gearslutz.

I haven't a clue when they'll get around to releasing most of these, if ever, but the Pro 1 (pegged at $299) is on the way, and I hear that the Odyssey is not far behind. They also already built (Pro 1) Sequential Circuits Pro one, Arp Odyssey, (RD) TR-909, (RD) TR-808, (MS) Roland SH-101, and (VC340) Roland VP-330 vocoder clone prototypes. They got several synths I'm interested in on the way: There's talk of a Roland System 100m clone, an OB-Xa clone, a OSCar clone, and a Arp 2600 clone. I have plans to buy a few of their synths once they're available, assuming they're as good as the Neutron and Model D (Boog) quality/sound wise. Yup, I've been pleased with the quality of Behringer's new synth offerings, especially for the money.

Came with five patch leads, PSU and a ribbon cable for Eurorack conversion. But the subsonics in the bass! It’s a bassline synth with a throbbing analog heart of gold. The oscillators are pristine, and the filter design is, I think, unique. It darkens the overall output of the machines in a crazy but not necessarily welcome way. The one feature that lets the unit down somewhat is the BBD Delay line, which is hellishly noisy and leaks into the main signal chain unless set to all three knobs at zero. There’s a myriad of options available by pressing and holding the various buttons, that alters the behaviours of the oscillators, lfo, etc. The Moffat filter has a second, hidden output, such that selecting HP sends BP to VCF2, BP sends HP and selecting low pass sends high pass to the second output, allowing a notch filter to be summed, or combining a band pass with one of the others creates the impression of a higher pole. It excels at bass lines but has secrets under the hood that the reviewers often miss. So, what sort of synth is the Behringer Neutron? Given that it costs about the same as the Miroslav Philharmonik 2 library or the Addictive Drums everything bundle, it’s a very tasty little synth.
